Bangla Hindu Puran (“we”, “our”, “us”) is a reading app that provides a digital collection of Hindu scriptures (e.g., Puranas and Vedas) in PDF format for personal reading. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect (if any), how we use it, and the choices you have.

1) Scope & Overview

  • This policy applies to the Bangla Hindu Puran Android application and any in-app services we provide.

  • The app is designed for personal reading and offline access.

  • As of the version covered by this policy, we do not require account creation and we do not collect personally identifiable information (PII).

2) Data We Collect

By default, the app is built to minimize data collection.

2.1 No Personal Information by Default

  • We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, address, contacts, photos, or precise location.

  • We do not collect payment card details. Purchases (if any) occur via external payment providers under their own policies.

2.2 Local App Data (Stored on Your Device)

  • Downloaded PDFs and reading progress/bookmarks are stored locally on your device.

  • We do not upload your library, reading history, or annotations to our servers.

2.3 Network Requests

  • The app may use the internet to:

    • check for content updates or verify download links,

    • open external purchase/download pages.

  • These are standard requests; we do not build user profiles.

2.4 Diagnostics/Analytics (Currently Off)

  • We do not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, or crash logs by default.

  • If we later enable diagnostics (e.g., Firebase Crashlytics/Analytics) to improve stability, we will:

    • update this policy before enabling,

    • limit collection to technical, non-identifying data (e.g., device model, OS version, app version, crash traces).

3) How We Use Data

When any data is processed, it is solely to:

  • Provide core functionality (render PDFs, manage your local library, bookmarks, search),

  • Maintain performance and security,

  • Troubleshoot issues (only if diagnostics are explicitly enabled in a future version).

We do not sell or rent data.

4) Data Sharing & Third Parties

  • We do not share personal data with third parties.

  • If you follow an external link (e.g., to complete a purchase or download), your activity is governed by that website’s privacy policy.

  • If a future version enables diagnostics, limited technical data may be processed by service providers (e.g., Google/Firebase) strictly to help us monitor stability. Any such change will be reflected in an updated policy and Play Console “Data safety” declarations before release.

5) Storage, Retention, and Security

  • Local Storage: Your PDFs and reading metadata remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app.

  • Retention: Because we do not collect personal data, there is no server-side retention.

  • Security: We use reasonable technical and organizational measures. Data in transit (e.g., when fetching a download link) is protected with industry-standard encryption (HTTPS). No method is 100% secure.

6) Your Choices & Controls

  • Permissions:

    • Network/Internet — to fetch/update content or open external links.

    • Storage/Media (if prompted by the system) — only to save/read PDFs locally. On modern Android, this typically uses scoped storage or the system file picker; we do not access unrelated files.

  • Delete Local Data: You can delete downloaded files/bookmarks within the app (if provided) or via Android’s App Info → Storage → Clear data.

  • External Accounts: If you purchase content through a third-party site, manage or request deletion through that provider.

7) Children’s Privacy

This app is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or the local age of digital consent). If you believe a child provided us data, contact app.stdofficial@gmail.com and we will promptly delete it.

8) International Use

We operate in India but our infrastructure (e.g., hosting for static pages or content delivery) may be provided by global vendors. Any processing (if introduced later) will follow applicable laws and vendor policies.

9) Your Rights

Depending on your region (e.g., India’s DPDP Act 2023, EU’s GDPR, UK GDPR, Brazil’s LGPD, California’s CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights such as access, correction, deletion, and objection/opt-out.

If a future update introduces analytics, ads, or sign-in, we will update both this policy and the Play Console “Data Safety” form before release.

11) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the app or legal requirements. Updates will be available in-app and/or on our support page with a new “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
